Governor Dauda Lawal
Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle involving three commissioners and appointed three officials to key government positions.
The governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Suleman Ahmad Tudu, said the changes were aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery.
Announcing the development, the SSG, Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, said the redeployments were intended to reposition key ministries for greater efficiency and effective implementation of the administration’s Rescue Agenda.
Under the reshuffle, Hon. Abdulrahman Tumbido was moved from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, while Hon. Kasimu Yahya Kaura was redeployed from Environment and Natural Resources to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
Also, Hon. Tasiu Musa Shinkafi was transferred from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The government said the redeployments take immediate effect, while the affected commissioners have been directed to complete handing-over processes within one week.
In a related development, Governor Lawal approved the appointment of Dr Muhammad Habibu Yelwa as Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Substance Abuse and Control Agency and Dr Usman Ismaila Gusau as Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Livestock Agency.
The governor also reappointed Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed Nakwada as State Project Coordinator of the Zamfara State Agricultural and Community Development Project (ZACADEP).
Nakwada said the appointments were aimed at strengthening government reforms and improving service delivery in public health, agriculture, livestock development and community-based interventions.
He urged the appointees to bring innovation, dedication and renewed commitment to their assignments in line with the administration’s development agenda.
