The National Examinations Council (NECO) is recruiting 22,000 supervisors for the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal, scheduled to begin June 15, and has warned the public against fraudulent online recruitment portals.
In a statement signed by Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, the council said it had adopted a fully electronic recruitment process in line with recommendations of the Ministerial Committee on the Improvement of Quality of Examination in Nigeria.
Only qualified pensionable teachers on Grade Level 12 and above, aged at least 30, are eligible to apply, it said.
Applications must be submitted through the council’s official portal at supervisor.neco.gov.ng.
NECO said the recruitment was fully automated and required no third-party involvement. It warned that fake portals were soliciting academic credentials and demanding payments from applicants, stressing that no fee was required to apply.
The council urged the public to disregard any platform requesting money or personal details outside its official portal. (The Nation)
