Music executive Michael Collins Ajereh popularly known as Don Jazzy, has said he was frequently rejected by female classmates in secondary school.
Speaking on the ‘Keeping It Real With Jima’ podcast, the Mavin Records founder explained that as a teenager, he wasn’t considered good-looking and was turned down by girls he approached for relationships.
Don Jazzy said that after becoming successful in the music industry, he tried to reconnect with those former classmates.
He stated that most of them were already married by the time he found them.
The producer said seeing his own career progress helped him move past those teenage experiences.
“I wasn’t good-looking during my secondary school days. Thank God for music because back then I was constantly being rejected by girls. But after I became successful, I went back to look for all the girls who rejected me. But almost all of them were already married,” he revealed.
Don Jazzy founded Mavin Records in 2012 after co-founding Mo’ Hits Records in 2004.
He has since produced and signed artists including Rema, Ayra Starr, and Johnny Drille. (The Nation)
