Ikpeazu’s aide dumps PDP

An ally of Abia Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has resigned from PDP, the ruling party in the state.

In a letter to the PDP Chairman for Ward 9 Obingwa, Ebere Uzoukwa said he decided to leave the party for personal reasons. 5th September 2016.

Mr. Uzoukwa was Senior Special Assistant on Media to Governor Ikpeazu until June this year. He had earlier served as Deputy Director, Media & Publicity, of Okezuo Abia & Abia PDP Governorship Campaign Organization 2015.

The erstwhile Special Assistant Media/Chief Press Secretary to Imo Governor Rochas Okorocha (2011-13), wrote: “I wish to formally notify you on my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party. This decision to quit the PDP is and remains personal.

“May I also use this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to party leaders at different levels especially the amiable governor of Abia state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for their unflinching support and encouragement while in the same political family.

“I shall remain grateful to them.

“To other party members, I wish them in their endeavour.”
