Fayemi coordinating APC plot to rig Ondo election — AD •Says over N1bn moved into Ondo to actualise the plot

The Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Ondo State, on Monday revealed that the former Governor of Ekiti State and now Minister of Solid Mineral, Dr Kayode Fayemi, in conjunction with top leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are to lead an onslaught against the leaders of the AD in the State beginning from Thursday this week placing them under arrest using security agencies.

In what it dubbed as the “Ekiti option” by which a similar covert operation was allegedly used by the government in power then to oust the same Fayemi, the AD, in a release issued by its Secretary, Dr Sola Agboola, described as ironical that a man who cried out that he was rigged out due to massive clampdown on his supporters in the 2014 Ekiti Governorship election is the very man now trying to use the same tactics against us in Ondo State simply because he is now a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The AD scribe also alleged that the Minister has also used the occasion of the last weekend mega rally of the APC for its Candidate in this Saturday's governor ship election in the State, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, which he said he (Fayemi) sponsored, to move over N1billion into the State for the purpose of rigging the election.

His words: “We are aware that Fayemi is coordinating the onslaught against us with an array of security agents to arrest our leaders, beginning with the Director General of the Olusola Oke Campaign Organization, Mr Bola Ilori, to decimate our followers few days before the election so that they can have a field to rig.

“He has also used the resources of the Federal Government to move into Ondo State over N1billion to rig the election. From this lump sum, beginning from this evening, a sum of N100, 000 would be shared out to each unit in the 18 local government areas of the State to begin this grand rigging plot and to compromise people with cash.

“By this monetisation of the electoral process, Fayemi and his co-travellers are trying to capitalise on the poverty in the land. Here was a man, a Minister of the Federal Republic, boasting on live program beamed to the whole world that APC would win at all cost insisting that anybody who says Akeredolu would not win in lifetime, would have Akeredolu victory happen after his death.

“That was the stuff of those who want to invite crisis in Ondo State; but God will not allow him and his co-travellers in their journey to perdition. The people of Ondo State are aware of the antics of the APC who are daily making spirited efforts to rig at all cost and foment trouble if they cannot achieve their aim. They will not only fail, but shall meet their Waterloo in the people who are resolute to cast their votes for a man they can trust, not an outsider they do not know.”
