Rivers Rerun Polls: Reject enemies of Ogoni struggle with your votes, PDP tells Ogoni people

The Chairman, Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bro Felix Obuah, has urged the good people of Ogoni to vote against “enemies of their globally acknowledged and applaudable non-violence struggle for justice and emancipation, who, yesterday, were agents of the military junta that exterminated a generation of the Ogoni people, including the revered Environmental Rights Activist and great Ogoni leader, Ken Saro-Wiwa, but today, they have disguised as ‘progressives’ and concerned politicians, seeking the mandate of the Ogoni people, through their votes.”

A statement issued by Obuah’s media aide, Jerry Needam reads: “With great pains, we remember how Ogoni people were maimed, killed, properties burnt and looted, and communities destroyed. We recall the woes and anguish of our beloved Ogoni people in the hands of the Military, through actions of these Ogoni natives (political) collaborators.

“Our memories are also still fresh on how several illustrious sons and daughters of Ogoni were forcefully made to flee their ancestral homes, even as thousands are today, still on exile.

“The recent killings of innocent Ogonis by the APC-deployed soldiers and armed men in some Ogoni communities, including the brutal killing of pregnant women and children, are still heavy on our minds.

“They have come again with their plan to enslave, oppress and destroy the people and the land, like they have done previously.

“These so-called APC politicians seeking for your votes cannot give you good roads, or build your schools, hospitals and they cannot also create employment for Ogoni people.
“Support Governor Nyesom Wike to develop Ogoni. Be wise! Vote only PDP candidates; they are your compatriots, Comrades and allies in the Ogoni struggle for justice and development.”
