Ondo PDP Chairman faults Mimikoâ€™s claim on legal representation

Ondo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Biyi Poroye, has faulted claims credited to the State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, concerning legal representation in Suit No: FHC/ABJ/CS/395/2016 Between Prince Biyi Poroye & Ors. vs INEC & PDP.

Poroye in a statement issued in Akure on Wednesday described the claims credited to Governor Mimiko as absolutely false and incorrect.

He said that a statement credited to Mimiko, which was publicised on the electronic media, including Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC) and the social media, among others, claimed that Mr. Olagoke Fakunle, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), acted as counsel to both plaintiffs (Prince Biyi Poroye & others and the 2nd defendant, PDP).

“Our counsel in the case was Dr. Alex Izinyon, SAN. At no time whatsoever, did we engage or consult with Mr. Olagoke Fakunle, SAN, concerning this matter. For the avoidance of any possible doubt, the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the record of court exhibited here shows the names of counsel to the parties,” Poroye said.

He urged the general public to disregard what he also described as obvious false statement.
