Abia Speaker condemns Isiala Ngwa North political violence

The member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency and the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martins Azubuike, has condemned in clear terms, the inferno caused by miscreants at the office of the Chairman of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Council Headquarters, Okpuala Ngwa.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Prince Clinton Uba, the Speaker held that the evil plot which led to the death of Mr. Onyenmaechi Onyenro and two others, Ms. Florence Akwarandu and Ms. Amarachi Orioha, who sustained various degrees of injuries is an act of wickedness and height of inhumanity that should be condemned by all men of goodwill, stressing that nobody’s ambition, no matter how highly paced is enough to cause the death of another and inflicting pains to the families of the innocent civil servants of the council.

The speaker thanked Major Nwakanma the Commandant, Nigerian Army Depot, Okpuala Ngwa, Isiala Ngwa North LGA, for the timely intervention of his gallant soldiers who apprehended some of the culprits. Mr. Speaker also applauded the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Leye Shola Oyebade for taking over the investigation of the unfortunate incident and urged the Police to find the immediate and remote causes of the evil plot, expressing his implicit confidence in the Nigeria Police to bring the perpetrators and their sponsors to book to serve as a deterrent to all evil plotters.

Rt. Hon. Azubuike urged the workers of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Council and the families of the victims to remain calm and law abiding, promising that everything possible will be done within the ambit of the law to make sure that anyone involved in this dastardly plot will not go unpunished.
