Late Ezinne Christiana Nwaruem Oleh
The death has been announced of Ezinne Christiana Nwaruem Oleh, nee Chukwuashi who died at the age of 95, (1931-2026).
Among other children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, she is survived by Dr Cyril Onyemaechi OLEH, a seasoned journalist and broadcaster who worked in various news organizations including the Voice of America (VOA) as well as the US Embassy in Nigeria.
Ezinne Christiana Oleh was the matriach of the Olenwude Chukwuegbo family of Okpome Agbada Nenwe in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu state.
She was born on 13th June 1931 to the family of Ignatius and Margaret Chukwuashi of umuegbarike umudibo Amoji Nenwe and got married to Chief Edward Nwabueze Oleh in 1955. Both of them lived in Kano state until the outbreak of the Nigerian civil war in 1966 which forced them to relocate to the South East.
A devout Catholic, Ezinne Christiana Oleh was decorated in her community many times for her exemplary life. Among her numerous awards include, Ezinne (role model), Nne Okwukwe ( Faithful mother), among others.
During her life time, she threw her house open to young Seminarians, teachers and students whom she took in as second mother mentoring and offering them Counseling services pro bono in her home town of Nenwe thereby earning the sobriquets, Nne ndi Fada (mother of many priests) and Mama nwa Chukwu nna ( mother, the special child of God). She was matron and patroness of many Christian and social associations in her home town, including Nenwe Integrity Foundation which named her Mama Integrity.
Apart from Dr Cyril Oleh, Ezinne Christiana Oleh is survived by many children, grand children and great grandchildren, including Dr Fidelis Osita Oleh of the Nigerian Institute of Soil Science Abuja, Lolo Chioma Cyril-Oleh, former State Rep (Abuja) of Young Women Christian Association of Nigeria and Mrs Chinenye Osita-Oleh.
She has been buried according to her wish which was strictly that she be buried without fanfares but in accordance with the Catholic Church burial rites.
