Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad
Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) of Police in charge of Operations, Shehu Nadada, and Kaduna State Commissioner of Police (CP), Rabiu Muhammad, have embarked on an operational tour of communities in Southern Kaduna where terrorists have attacked communities.
The tour was part of ongoing efforts to curb crime, strengthen security and build public confidence in the state.
Among the communities visited by the top police officials are Kachia, Sanga, Jere, Zango, Kajuru and Kafanchan local councils as well as other parts of the state.
During the visit, they held strategic engagements with key stakeholders, including traditional rulers, community leaders, Miyetti Allah, other Fulani leaders, religious leaders and youth leaders to deliberate on the prevailing security challenges in the communities.
In a statement yesterday, the Kaduna Police Command spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, disclosed that the “discussions centred on enhancing collaboration between security agencies and the community, addressing farmer-herder issues, and promoting intelligence sharing to tackle criminal activities effectively.”
He said the DIG emphasised the importance of peaceful coexistence, urging the residents to live in harmony and avoid actions capable of escalating tensions.
The DIG, he added, assured the communities of the police’s continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
According to him, the engagement also provided an opportunity for community members to express their concerns and contribute practical solutions for restoring lasting peace in the area. (The Guardian)
