Former National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ralph Nwosu, has accused some state chairmen of the party of double standards amid the ongoing leadership crisis.
Speaking on Arise News on Tuesday, Nwosu said many of those now protesting the emergence of David Mark as the party’s national chairman were actively involved in the process that produced him.
According to Nwosu, the chairmen were present at key meetings, including the July 2 2025, gathering at the Yar’Adua Centre, where decisions on new leadership were discussed and endorsed.
“They were there, clapping. When we convened the NEC meeting to select new leadership, the agenda was clear and communicated to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and they were all present,” he said.
He added that a subsequent National Executive Committee meeting held on July 29, 2025, also had full participation, with all stakeholders, including state chairmen and INEC, duly informed of the plan to constitute a new leadership.
Nwosu stressed that the process leading to Mark’s emergence was transparent and widely known, noting that members of the media were also present at the meetings.
The former chairman’s remarks come amid deepening tensions within the ADC, with factions disputing the legitimacy of the party’s current leadership. (The Sun)
