The Commissioner for Digital Economy and e-Government, Hon Amadi Chimezie
The Imo State Ministry of Digital Economy and e-Government unveiled the platform, which enables users to check and download FSLC certificates online.
This comes from the State Commissioner for Education, Prof. B. T. O. Ikeagwuoha, said that all First School Leaving results and certificates from 2022 to 2025 can be accessed and printed from the portal.
The Commissioner for Digital Economy and e-Government, Hon. Amadi Chimezie, who announced this at a press conference on Tuesday, said the initiative marks a significant step in the state’s ongoing digital transformation agenda, enabling citizens to access and download their FSLC certificates anytime and from anywhere.
“For years, thousands of Imo indigenes have faced major challenges in obtaining their FSLC certificates. These challenges include long travel distances, delays in processing, loss or damage of physical records, bureaucratic bottlenecks, and, in some cases, exposure to fraudulent intermediaries. These issues have affected job applications, school admissions, and other critical opportunities requiring proof of primary education.
“This initiative not only enhances convenience but also improves transparency, efficiency, and trust in public service delivery. It aligns with the broader vision of building a digitally enabled Imo State where government services are accessible, inclusive, and citizen-centric.
This solution is part of the Ministry’s commitment to leveraging technology to solve real-life problems and unlock opportunities for Ndi Imo.
Members of the public are encouraged to visit the official portal educations.im.gov.ng to access the service and take advantage of this innovation.”
Also speaking, Prof. B. T. O. Ikeagwuoha, the Imo State Commissioner for Education (Primary and Secondary), explained that his ministry no longer handles cash.
“All examination fees – for WAEC, NECO, First School Leaving, Junior WAEC, and Common Entrance – are now paid online. The results and certificates between 2022 and 2025 can now be accessed and downloaded from the Imo First School Leaving Certificate portal. Those for the period between 2009 and 2022 will soon be ready. We have successfully registered WAEC/NECO, junior WAEC, and FSLC on this portal,” he said
