Blessing CEO on her cancer diagnosis
Media personality Blessing CEO has explained why she won’t share evidence of her stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis on social media, stating that the results would be incomprehensible to the general public.
In a video message, she emphasised that only medical professionals can interpret the results and that her friends have already consulted doctors abroad.
Blessing CEO clarified that her intention was not to solicit money, but to be open about her struggles with cancer, and she’s been touched by the support from her followers.
She said, “I can’t put my result on social media because a lot of you cannot make a meaning out of it. Only medical doctors can. I don’t need multiple analyses. If you want the result or if someone prominent reaches out, I am going to share all the evidence.
“My close friends are more concerned about getting a good hospital for treatment. A lot of my friends have taken my results to show their doctors abroad.
“The aim was not to beg for money. I was completely clueless because I didn’t know anything about cancer. The goal was to be vulnerable, not to beg Nigerians for money.
“A lot of my followers have been with me since I started social media and have become closer than family. I broke down, and I posted because my friends insisted that I could not do this alone. It was not a money thing. I am a very hardworking woman.
“Money is coming in trickles, bit by bit, and that is the sweetest thing about it. People do not have, but they want to be part of the blessing”. (The Nation)
