One of the wives of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Asiya Ahmed El-Rufai, was denied entry through the main gate of the Federal High Court in Kaduna where the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) arraigned her husband, on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning after ICPC officials brought the former governor into the courtroom at about 9 a.m.
Asiya, who arrived at the court premises wearing an ash veil, appeared visibly upset when she attempted to enter through the main gate but found it locked.
She asked a masked Department of State Services (DSS) official at the gate to grant her access, but he declined.

“I’m Mrs El-Rufai. Who do you want me to call to allow me in?” she asked, but the officer remained silent.
She added, “What is happening here today will pass.”
She was later directed to use the back entrance to access the court, which she eventually did.
A few minutes later, the first wife of the former governor, Khadija Ahmed El-Rufai, was also denied access through the front gate, and was equally asked by security operatives to use the back entrance.
Khadija, dressed in a black abaya and scarf, appeared calm as she walked within the premises to find her way into the courtroom. (Daily Trust)
