Governor Seyi Makinde is currently presiding over a critical stakeholders’ meeting focused on shaping the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections in the state.

The meeting, taking place at the Local Government Service Commission Secretariat in Ibadan, has drawn party leaders, top government appointees, and other influential figures within the state chapter of the PDP.

Deliberations are expected to centre on the ongoing screening of governorship aspirants contesting on the platform of the party, early outcomes of the process, the party primaries, and the broader electoral roadmap.

Sources within the party, who spoke anonymously to Nigerian Tribune correspondent, said the governor’s proactive move highlights a strong commitment to preserving party unity while positioning the PDP for what is expected to be a highly competitive governorship race.
