Organisers of the Corporate Olympics in Lagos
By ADERONKE OJEDIRAN
No fewer than 5,000 professionals from different sectors are expected to participate in the maiden edition of the Corporate Olympics scheduled to hold in Lagos on May 1, 2026.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Technical Director, Work and Wellness Ltd., Trebla Albert, made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos.
Albert said the initiative was aimed at celebrating the human drive behind corporate productivity.
Albert said Nigeria’s corporate ecosystem was about to witness a unique convergence of business, wellness and competitive spirit as the Corporate Olympics debuts at the Landmark Event Centre.
According to him, the event is designed to bring together professionals from leading organisations for a day of high-performance sporting challenges, wellness activities and collaborative competition.
“The Corporate Olympics is more than a sporting event; it is a movement that celebrates the human engine behind business performance.
“It will create an avenue for professionals across industries to engage in healthy competition, while also strengthening bonds within and across organisations,” he said.
Albert added that the initiative would encourage companies to prioritise employee wellbeing as a key driver of productivity and innovation.
The Project Manager of the event, Mr Daniel Maduneme, said the initiative stood out from traditional corporate gatherings.
Maduneme said the Corporate Olympics would offer an immersive platform, combining sports, strategy, media engagement and brand activation.
He noted that many corporate events focused mainly on conferences and networking sessions,
“Most corporate events revolve around meetings and conversations, but this event takes it further by creating an experience where professionals can connect through sport and wellness.
“It is designed to strengthen teamwork, promote healthy lifestyles and foster stronger connections among professionals across industries,” he said.
Also speaking, a resource person for the event, Mr Maje Ayida, said companies could participate by registering corporate teams, sponsoring activation zones or partnering with the organisers as strategic collaborators.
Ayida said such partnerships would help promote workplace wellness, improve employee performance and encourage a culture of healthy competition within the corporate environment.
He expressed optimism that the initiative would grow into a major corporate sporting platform that promotes wellness and collaboration within Nigeria’s business community. (NAN)
