A multiple road crash involving three vehicles has occurred on Admiralty Way, inward Admiralty Roundabout, in the Lekki area of Lagos.
Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident.
In a statement on Monday, the agency said one of the vehicles involved in the crash caught fire, causing serious traffic disruption around Road 14 on Admiralty Way.
Videos circulating online show a vehicle engulfed in flames, while two other SUVs involved in the crash were left badly damaged.
LASTMA said motorists were diverted to Road 14 to connect Durosimi Etti Road as officers moved to manage the situation.
“Traffic is seriously affected as vehicles are being diverted to Road 14 to connect Durosimi Etti Road,” the agency said.
The agency said it is awaiting the arrival of police force and firefighters.
LASTMA later confirmed that firefighters had arrived at the scene to extinguish the burning vehicle.
The agency also said traffic counterflow was temporarily adopted to allow motorists reconnect to Admiralty Roundabout as officers continued efforts to restore normal traffic flow. (The Nation)
