Customers of Eko Electricity Distribution Company have been notified of a planned power outage scheduled for Saturday, March 14, to enable maintenance work on the electricity network.
The distribution company disclosed this in a power update issued to customers on Sunday.
According to the notice, the outage will occur between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm to allow contractors of the Transmission Company of Nigeria to carry out essential maintenance and upgrade works aimed at improving electricity service delivery.
“Dear valued customer, kindly be informed of a planned power outage scheduled as follows: Date: Saturday, 14th March 2026. Time: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM,” the statement read.
The company explained that the temporary interruption in power supply was necessary to facilitate technical work on the network.
“This outage is required to allow Transmission Company of Nigeria contractors carry out essential maintenance and upgrade works on the network to improve service delivery,” it added.
Areas expected to be affected by the planned outage include Apapa, Kirikiri, Ajegunle, Mobil Road, and surrounding communities in Lagos.
The electricity distribution company apologised to customers for the inconvenience the outage might cause and appealed for their understanding during the period.
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding,” the notice stated. (PUNCH)
