Veteran actor, Pete Edochie
Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has lamented over the rising cost of electricity and unreliable power supply in Nigeria, saying he spends not less than N40,000 on electricity daily in his house.
Speaking during an interview on Africa Independent Television (AIT), the veteran actor described the amount of powering his household as a burden.
According to him, “I pay N10,000 for light every day in my house. Then, I spend additional N30,000; N20,000 for diesel, N10,000 for fuel (sic). On the whole, I spend N40,000 every single day on light. It disturbs me a lot.”
The veteran actor noted that the situation shows the difficulties faced by many Nigerians who continue to struggle with the country’s persistent electricity challenges.
Edochie also accused many politicians of going into politics just to enjoy power instead of serving the people.
He added, “Nobody seems to be bothered about what is happening to the common man.” (Nigerian Tribune)
