Ismaila Sarr scored twice as Crystal Palace earned a 3-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, who had Micky van de Ven sent off in the first half.
Sarr had a goal disallowed for offside, before Dominic Solanke put Spurs in front in the 34th minute. However, fortunes turned for the home side soon after when captain Van de Ven was handed a straight red card four minutes later for fouling Sarr inside the box.
The Senegalese forward restored parity from the penalty spot before Jorgen Strand Larsen put the Eagles in front in the first minute of first-half stoppage time.
And the win was sealed when Sarr grabbed his second with a smart finish in the seventh minute of stoppage time, with Spurs unable to muster a response after the break.
The result means that Spurs have lost their first three matches under Igor Tudor and remain 16th in the table, one point above 17th-placed Nottingham Forest and 18th-placed West Ham United.
Palace, meanwhile, jumped up to 13th and are on 38 points, 10 clear of the bottom three.
How the match unfolded
Palace thought they had scored an opener when Sarr’s shot deflected off Pedro Porro and looped into the net 29 minutes in, only for it to be ruled out for a close offside following a lengthy VAR review.
Shortly after, at the other end, Spurs made the most of that reprieve, getting themselves in front when Solanke tucked home following good work from Archie Gray down the right.
However, the hosts’ joy was short-lived as Van de Ven was sent off for pulling back Sarr, who sent Guglielmo Vicario the wrong way from the resulting spot-kick.
Palace turned the game on its head in first-half stoppage time when Adam Wharton slipped in Strand Larsen, who poked the ball between the legs of Vicario from close range before the England international’s sensational ball picked out Sarr to net his brace soon after.
Despite being a man down, Spurs almost reduced the deficit through Solanke, whose near-post attempt was saved by Dean Henderson in the second half, before Strand Larsen curled wide at the other end as Palace got back to winning ways. (premierleague.com, excluding headline)
