Not only does Harry Kane score goals for fun, he also breaks records for fun. This season, Kane became the fastest player to reach 20 goal contributions in Europe’s top five leagues, needing just 742 minutes, pipping Messi’s previous record of 749 in the 2011/12 season. The Englishman also scored his 100th goal for Bayern in 104 games, beating Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland as the fastest player to score 100 goals for one club. Kane is by no means a one-season-wonder either. He became the first player in the Bundesliga’s 60 year history to score over 20 goals in their first three seasons. And just in case that wasn’t enough, the Englishman has converted all 23 of his attempted spot-kicks—the longest 100% conversion rate in the league’s history.
Kane could make history once again in Bayern’s clash against bitter rivals, Borussia Dortmund. The Three Lions captain has scored multiple goals in each of his last three Bundesliga matches, a feat matched only by Gerd Müller and Robert Lewandowski—the latter scoring multiple goals in four consecutive games, a record Kane could equal.
It’s no secret Kane is slowly reeling Lewandowski’s Bundesliga goal record in, but equaling—and potentially breaking—another of the Pole’s records would be the cherry on top of what has already been a record-breaking, career-defining season.
