The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition for today, Monday October 17, 2016:
NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to sunny situation are expected over the region during morning hours. There is possibility of localised thundery activities over Yelwa, Kano, Gusau and Kaduna during the evening period. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 32 – 38°C.
CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy condition is anticipated with prospects of early morning isolated thunderstorms over Jalingo, Makurdi and Mambilla. Localised thundery showers are not also unlikely over the high ground areas of the region such as Abuja, Lokoja, Minna, Jos and Bida during the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 29 – 33°C.
SOUTHERN STATES: Increased cloudiness in the morning with probability of localised rains over Port Harcourt, Calabar and Owerri. There are chances of localised thunderstorms/rain showers over places such as Lagos, Warri, Yenago, Benin, Akure, Ibadan, Enugu and Awka during afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 29 – 33°C.
