IAN WRIGHT’s grandson scored a spectacular winner with an overhead kick for Belgian second division side Beerschot.
D’Margio Wright-Phillips, 24, is the son of former Chelsea and Man City winger Shaun and the nephew of ex-Charlton man Bradley.

And he has three football stars to look up to knowing his grandfather Ian was an Arsenal legend who scored 333 goals for club and country.
Like his dad, he started his career with Man City before moving to Stoke in 2022.
After loans with Northampton Town and Beerschot, he decided to make his move to Belgian permanent in 2024.
And while he hasn’t been as prolific as the rest of his family, he did make quite an impression during his side’s 2-1 win over Club NXT.
Wright-Phillips had only been on the pitch as a sub for four minutes late in the game when a cross came into the box.
But Club NXT didn’t deal with it well and the goalkeeper attempted a terrible clearance that rebounded off one of his players.
The ball then bounced goalwards, giving Wright-Phillips a chance to convert with the goal gaping.
But he opted to go for the spectacular with a bicycle kick from just a yard out.
And he wasn’t finished there with the acrobatics as he then celebrated with a cartwheel and backflip in front of a rapturous support.
His goal was enough for all three points after NXT had cancelled out Beerschot’s earlier penalty.
Beerschot celebrated the strike by posting a video of Wright-Phillips’ goal with the caption: “Late winners always hit different.”
Wright-Phillips, who plays as a right winger – has managed three goals and three assists for his club this season.
Last season, he was goalless as he picked up 11 appearances in all competitions when his side were in the Belgian top flight.
After they suffered relegation, he has picked up more minutes and started five of his last six matches.
Wright-Phillips once claimed he was a better finisher than his legendary granddad Ian, which brought out a bemused response from the Gunners legend.
He replied to the story on X, writing: “Look at the chest on this yute,” followed by laughing emojis. (The Sun)
