The Anambra State Police Command has expressed high optimism and readiness ahead of the forthcoming 15th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA) with the theme “Beyond the Badge: Excellence in Action” scheduled to take place from February 14, 2026 in Asaba, Delta State.
Addressing the respective strategic officers of the Command as well as selected officers that will participate in the games, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, represented by the Command Management Team at the Police Headquarters in Awka on Wednesday, praised the officers’ steadfastness, discipline, and commitment.
He described their dedication and optimism as a clear demonstration of excellence beyond routine policing duties.
The CP observed that the All Police Games serves as an important platform for promoting physical fitness, teamwork, unity, and mental alertness among officers, saying that it contributes significantly to effective service delivery and professional efficiency within the Force.
Orutugu expressed confidence in the preparedness and morale of the Anambra Police contingent, even as he assured them of the Command’s full support and encouragement as they strive to excel and win medals for the Command and the Nigeria Police Force at large.
The CP further urged the officers to uphold the core values of discipline, fairness, and sportsmanship throughout the competition, reminding them that they are ambassadors of the Anambra State Police Command and must conduct themselves with dignity and professionalism at all times.
The Games, which was once hosted by Anambra State, will feature officers from various State Commands and Police formations across the country.
They will be competing in different sporting events, like basketball, Volleyball, Judo, Archery, Arm wrestling, football, tug of war, karate, tennis, swimming, chess, boxing, weight lifting among others.
CP Orutgu further explained that the games is geared towards fostering camaraderie, wellness, and unity within the Nigeria Police Force.
He wished its officers success and looks forward to a very commendable outing at the games, even as officers of the Command are determined to represent the State and compete for laurels with great zeal.
