Fulani leaders, including the President of Miyetti Allah, Kwara State chapter, have been arrested over alleged involvement in kidnapping and the sponsorship of armed bandit groups.

In a statement posted on the WhatsApp platform of the Kwara state Police command on Tuesday night, picture of three of the suspects was included for illustration.

The statement also ascribed the development to security reports.

The statement said that:

“Investigators say the Miyetti Allah leader reportedly admitted to aiding multiple kidnapping operations linked to Fulani bandits.

“These are men over 60 years old, individuals who should be voices of peace, now accused of fueling terror and violence.

“This case exposes a deep moral failure by specific leaders, not a community, and it demands full accountability under the law”. (Nigerian Tribune)
