FIFA has signed an agreement to install 30 mini football pitches, known as FIFA Arena, across Morocco, according to a social media statement FIFA President Gianni Infantino shared on Thursday.

Infantino said the project aims to provide safe and sustainable access to football while creating a positive social impact in local communities.
He described the initiative as one that goes “beyond the pitch” and supports ambition, hope, and learning opportunities for young people through sport.
The FIFA President thanked several Moroccan officials and partners for their collaboration on the project, including Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and member of the FIFA Council.
He also thanked Mohamed Saad Berrada, Morocco’s Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, and Mostafa Terrab, Chairman and CEO of the OCP Group.
The FIFA Arena initiative is designed to promote grassroots football by creating accessible playing spaces, particularly for children and youth.

According to Infantino, the mini-pitches will contribute to community development while encouraging participation in football in a safe and inclusive environment.
The project comes as Morocco continues to strengthen its position as a major football hub in Africa and globally, especially after its successful hosting of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The country is set to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal and has invested heavily in sports infrastructure and youth development programs. (MWN)
