Imo distributes new certificate of occupancy to residents

The Imo state government has commenced the issuance of the new designed Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) to property owners in Imo state.

The issuance was done during the official flag off of the signing of the new Certificate of Occupancy at the Imo International Conference Centre in Owerri the Imo state capital.

The Imo State governor Mr. Rochas Okorocha represented by the Secretary to the State Government, George Eche says the new C of O will put an end to land racketeering and forgery in the Ministry of Lands and will in turn boost the Internally Generated Revenue of the state government.

The Commissioner of Lands, Survey and Urban Planning Mr. Law Eberuo also disclosed that the new C of O is cheaper to acquire as the processes have also been simplified.

He further revealed that the state government through the Ministry of Lands has also introduced digitalisation of ministry to ensure proper data analysis and enhance express search of documents in the ministry. (Channels TV)
