By IBIRONKE ARIYO
The management of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has approved the posting and redeployment of selected senior officers across key commands and formations nationwide to strengthen operational effectiveness and leadership oversight.
A statement by the Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), Olusegun Ogungbemide, quoted the Corps Marshal, FRSC, Mallam Shehu Mohammed, as disclosing this on Tuesday in Abuja.
Mohammed said that the redeployment, which takes immediate effect, was part of efforts to reposition critical expertise in line with prevailing road safety and administrative demands.
He said that the action was also taken to align leadership deployment with the strategic priorities of the Corps.
“Under the new postings, Deputy Corps Marshal (DCM) Pauline Olaye has been moved from the Special Duties and External Relations Department (SDER) to the Department of Administration and Human Resources at the National Headquarters.
“Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Godwin Omiko, formerly the Corps Project Implementation Officer, has been appointed as ACM, Special Duties and External Relations at the Headquarters.
“Also, ACM A. Sanusi, previously in charge of Manpower Development and Training, has been posted as Zonal Commanding Officer, RS1 Headquarters, Kaduna.
“ACM M.O. Olonisaye, erstwhile Corps Safety Engineering Officer, is now the Zonal Commanding Officer, RS2 Headquarters, Lagos,” he said.
In the same vein, Mohammed said that ACM A. Umar, formerly the Zonal Commanding Officer of RS1 Headquarters, Kaduna, has been nominated to attend a course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
The FRSC boss said that ACM J.W. Toby and ACM E. Odiete have exchanged commands in RS5 Headquarters, Benin, and RS11 Headquarters, Osogbo, respectively.
“ACM Y.A. Haruna has been appointed Assistant Corps Marshal, Federal Operations.
“ACM A.K. Odeleye-Oladayo has been posted as Zonal Commanding Officer, RS8 Headquarters, Ilorin, to strengthen administrative and operational coordination,” Mohammed said.
Similarly, the FRSC boss said that ACM C.M. Onukwubiri has been redeployed from RS8 Headquarters, Ilorin, to assume duty as the Corps Safety Engineering Officer at the National Headquarters.
Meanwhile, at the Corps Commander level, F.A. Ogidan has been appointed Corps Commander in charge of Command Administration and Strategy Office.
Also, CC A.S. Ibrahim and CC A.S. Ogungbemi have been posted as Sector Commanders in Adamawa and Plateau States respectively.
The Corps Marshal said CC S.E. Dawulung has been appointed Acting Corps Project Implementation Officer, while CC D.A. Bello is now the head of Special Marshals at the National Headquarters, Abuja.
The FRSC Corps Marshal directed all affected officers to ensure seamless handing and taking over and to assume duty immediately.
Mohammed expressed confidence that the strategic redeployment would further strengthen command efficiency, service delivery and institutional responsiveness across the country. (NAN)
