The Proprietor of Nacabs Polytechnic Akwanga, Nasarawa State, Mr David Abuluya, has advised the residents of the state to keep away from rats and maintain hygienic environment in order not to contract Lassa Fever and other diseases.
This, the proprietor said, was in the interest of their health and for the overall development of the state.
The proprietor made the call on Friday in Akwanga while speaking in an interview with newsmen on the school’s environmental cleanliness.
Abuluya said that unhygienic environment was harmful to human health, hence the need for all to keep their environments clean.
The founder of the institution said that the people should prevent rats contact with food in order not to contact Lassa Fever and other diseases.
” Store all food items and water in rodent-proof containers.
Cover all food and water properly,” he urged.
Abuluya, the Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Nasarawa State, expressed happiness that the school’s environment was too clean.
He said, “As you can see, the school environment is clean, that is what I always preach to the staff and students.
“Let’s maintain strict hygiene, this includes personal and environmental cleanliness, proper disposal of garbage far from the home, and general environmental sanitation,” he said.
Abuluya, the President, Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA), also advised the citizens to avoid indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the interest of their health. (NAN)
