Bunmi Akinnaanu, late Gospel singer
Gospel artiste Bunmi Akinnaanu is dead.
Akinnaanu gained famed with the success of her hit single, OMIJE OJUMI.
It was learnt that she died in a Lagos hospital on Monday, three months after she raised the alarm about a serious leg ailment she was battling.
Her colleague, Ayo Melody, shared a statement from the late singer’s family on Instagram on Tuesday.
The statement was signed by Olawale Akinnaanu for the family.
It reads, “With great sadness, we announce the passing of Evangelist Olubunmi Akinnanu Adeoye (OMIJE OJUMI), who passed away on 12th January 2026 at a Lagos hospital in Nigeria.
“May God grant her eternal rest.”
In October 2025, a video surfaced of the singer receiving prayers from an Ibadan-based pastor over her leg ailment.
In the video, the singer appealed for prayers to enable her regain health. (The Sun)
