•Says Southeast remains most marginalized under Tinubu

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nelson Ahamefula Akuma, has said that “the so-called Southeast leaders who endorsed Bola Ahmed Tinubu for second term don’t feel what majority of Igbos are feeling.”

He spoke on Sunday while reacting to the communiqué issued by the Vice Chairman (Southeast) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Ijeoma Arodiogbu, claiming that Southeast governors and other leaders have endorsed President Tinubu for a second term.

Akuma faulted the claim, saying that Tinubu has not done anything for the Igbos to warrant endorsement.

Akuma said that endorsement should be based on appraisal and if that is done, it would be discovered that the Southeast is the most marginalized region in the Tinubu administration.

He said that Igbos who travelled home for Christmas spent two days to get to their different destinations Igbo land because of the deplorable state of the roads.

According to the ADC chieftain, in the area of political appointments, Igbos are nowhere to be found in Tinubu’s administration.

He said that the Southeast as a whole has only one senior minister in the person of Dave Umahi while Ogun State alone has three senior ministers.

According to him, the ruling party has no capacity to solve the myriad of problems, adding that we cannot be doing the same thing and expect a different result.

“When I heard that Southeast APC governors and their leaders have endorsed Bola Tinubu for second term, I was amused. The fact remains that this administration has done absolutely nothing for the Igbos. In the area of infrastructure, we are not there. In appointments, we are also not there. So, what is the attraction? Why should southeasterners vote for Bola Tinubu who has not carried along them in his administration. Why should we return an administration that has failed to deliver on its campaign promises. Ndigbo are not that gullible,” Akuma said.

He said that ADC is the game changer, adding that the party is out to give ordinary Nigerians better life.
