Achike Udenwa ADC chieftain
Former Imo State Governor Chief Achike Udenwa has expressed confidence that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will soon become the ruling party, saying the party’s composition and leadership make it poised for success.
Udenwa made the remark after his official registration with ADC at his Amaifeke ward, saying he’s joined the party to contribute to changing the country’s narrative. He advised party members to prioritize the welfare of the people and expressed optimism that ADC will take over at the federal and state levels soon.
He said “I’m happy today, it’s my formal registration to ADC, one would be wondering why I’m leaving PDP , I’m leaving to have a strong platform we can use to change the narrative of this country.
“When I look at the composition of ADC they’re people that have worked with me ,I’m in a usual habitat , but I want the party member to ensure welfare of the people is uppermost . I’m not ashamed to say that ADC is the leading opposition party but in no distant time we would take over at the federal and State level. Udenwa said.
Earlier speaking at the occasion, ADC Chairman Dr. James Okoroma welcomed Udenwa, saying his joining is a boost to the party. He praised Udenwa as one of the best governors Imo State has produced and said the party has received over sixty aspirants in the last few days. He hailed Udenwa’s registration as symbolic, saying it marks a new chapter for the party.
