The Eagles alighting from the plane
The Super Eagles have returned to their base in Fez, ahead of their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final match against the host nation, Morocco.
The team arrived on Sunday, with a video shared on the Super Eagles’ official X (formerly Twitter) account capturing the players’ arrival.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face the Atlas Lions of Morocco in the semi-final on Wednesday in Rabat, with kick-off scheduled for 9:00 pm Nigerian time.
A place in the tournament final will be at stake.
Players and officials made the trip back to Fez following Nigeria’s impressive 2-0 quarter-final victory over Algeria in Marrakech on Saturday.
In an accompanying post, the team wrote, “The Super Eagles return to Fez. A recovery session is scheduled for tonight at the Saardienne Football Complex. #SuperEagles #AFCON2025 #Naija4TheWin.”
The video captured the squad in high spirits, with star striker Victor Osimhen visibly among the players.
Three-time AFCON champions, Nigeria, will take on Morocco at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Wednesday, January 14.
