Sanwo-Olu, Abiodun
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has dismissed reports alleging a rift between him and Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, describing such claims as false and misleading.
The governor made the clarification in a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile.
According to the statement, Sanwo-Olu’s attention was drawn to reports circulating on some online platforms and blogs suggesting a strained relationship between the two governors.
“We wish to state clearly that this is not true. In fact, it is the direct opposite of the relationship that exists between the two leaders,” the statement read.
The Lagos governor stressed that both leaders enjoy a very cordial, brotherly relationship, noting that they meet regularly and maintain frequent communication on issues of mutual interest.
The statement added that the close relationship is reinforced by the shared boundaries between Lagos and Ogun states, as well as longstanding socio-cultural ties.
Sanwo-Olu further cautioned individuals spreading what he described as fake news to desist, stressing that both governors are united by a common vision to improve the welfare and development of their respective states.
“Both Prince Dapo Abiodun and Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu remain committed to making life more abundant for the people they serve,” the statement concluded. (Nigerian Tribune)
