Eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi has said he would rather own a club than become a manager after retirement.
The Inter Miami captain disclosed this in an interview with Luzu TV, an Argentine streaming channel, that aired Tuesday.
He noted that while he liked the idea of coaching, he did not see himself becoming a manager after quitting as a player.
“I don’t see myself as a coach. I like the idea of being a manager, but I’d prefer to be an owner. I’d like to have my own club, start from the bottom, and make it grow. To be able to give the kids the opportunity to develop and achieve something important. If I had to choose, that’s what would appeal to me most.”
The father of three also gave an insight into life on the home front, saying he craves solitude after being worn out by the boys.
Messi said, “I’m weirder than shit. I really like being alone, I enjoy being alone.
“The mess at home with the three kids running around everywhere ends up saturating me and I like a moment of solitude.” (The Sun)
