When he hosted the immediate past Governor of Benue State and Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Chief Samuel Ortom, his wife, Dr. Eunice Ortom, and other political associates to a New Year dinner at his Makurdi residence.
Aondoakaa, who recently received the Tiv honorific chieftaincy title “Ivaan Yange I Tiv,” said the gathering, which attracted political leaders from both the APC and PDP, was organized by himself and his wife, Mrs. Patience Aondoakaa, to reflect on the events of 2025 and to strengthen peace, unity, and development in Benue State and Nigeria at large.
Aondoakaa, expressed his aspiration to govern Benue State and his resolve to enhance security measures in Benue State if elected in the forthcoming general elections urging unity and collaboration among political leaders.
He commended President Bola Tinubu for his efforts in addressing the security challenges and called for sustained support to prevent further attacks in the state.
The Former Minister expressed appreciation to Chief Ortom for the leadership role he continues to play in the state, as well as for the support he gives to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.
He appealed to Chief Ortom to continue serving as a peace ambassador, emphasizing the need for unity, collaboration, and strategic partnerships among leaders for the overall progress of Benue State.
Responding, Chief Ortom thanked Aondoakaa for his passion for humanity, describing him as a man with a good heart.
He noted that power belongs to God, who gives it to whom He wills, and eulogized Aondoakaa for his belief in strategic partnerships and inclusive leadership.
Ortom further acknowledged that Aondoakaa has adequately prepared himself with the capacity to lead at any level.
Other speakers at the event, John Uke for the Aondoakaa political family, Amb. Chive Kaave for Zone A; Hon. Charles Torbunde for Zone B; and Chief Mrs. Monica Ugela for the Spring Bloom Women Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Dr. Laha Dzever for the G14, all promoted peace, unity and love to enable the state grow.
