The Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of Police, Zone 4, Makurdi, Mr Zacharia Achinyan, has ordered a probe of the burnt 13 Police Mobile Force (PMF) building in Makurdi.

Achinyan gave the order on Monday when he paid an on-the-spot assessment visit to the burnt 13 Police Mobile Force (PMF), Makurdi.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Mobile Police 13 (Mopol 13) Unit office complex of the Nigeria Police Force in Makurdi was razed on Sunday morning.

ASP Ayo Oluwaseun, Zonal Public Relations Officer, said in a statement in Makurdi that the AIG was received on arrival by the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, alongside the Commanding Officer, 13 Police Mobile Force, Makurdi

The AIG expressed concern over the incident and consequently directed the Commissioner of Police to immediately commence a diligent and thorough investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the fire outbreak.

He reassured members of the public that the situation has been brought under control and urged them to remain calm and continue with their lawful activities, as adequate security measures are in place. (NAN)
