Scene of the crash
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Sector Command, says the road crash involving the Nigerian-British boxer, Anthony Joshua, on Monday, was caused by speeding and wrongful overtaking on the part of the driver.
Spokesperson of the command, Afolabi Odunsi, disclosed this in a statement made available to Daily Trust.
Daily Trust had reported that Joshua, was involved in a road accident which claimed two lives along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, on Monday.

Odunsi in a statement explained that the accident happened around 12pm in front of Sinoma, before Danco, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
According to him, the accident was caused by excessive speeding and wrongful overtaking by the driver who overtook from the right hand side, thereby ramming into a stationary vehicle.
The FRSC publicist said five people were involved in the crash with two deaths, one injured, while two others were unhurt.
