Paul Put, Uganda’s head coach, expects a difficult match against Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
After two games, the Cranes are still without a win in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The East Africans began their campaign with a 3-1 loss to Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles, then held Tanzania’s Taifa Stars to a 1-1 draw in their second match.
Uganda must now beat Nigeria to have any chance of earning a berth in the Round of 16.
The Super Eagles have already qualified for the knockout round after edging past Tanzania, and Tunisia in their opening two games.
Head coach Éric Chelle is expected to ring the changes for the game, giving opportunities to some of his fringe players.
Paul Put know things won’t be easy for his side against the Super Eagles.
“I told the players we must keep believing and fight until the last game. We are disappointed, but we have to reset and prepare for Nigeria. It won’t be easy,” Put said ahead of the game. (The Sun)
