Mohamed Salah, Liverpool forward
Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah, has reportedly played down speculation linking him with a move to the Turkish Super Lig, following reports of interest from Fenerbahce in the Egyptian star.
The Turkish club’s approach was said to be driven by reports of unrest at Liverpool, where the 33-year-old forward has allegedly fallen out of favour under new head coach Arne Slot and lost his regular place in the starting lineup.
According to Turkish media, Fenerbahçe officials met with Mohamed Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, to explore the possibility of luring the forward to Istanbul.
The Turkish club had been monitoring growing speculation surrounding Salah’s situation at Anfield and sought to assess whether a switch to Türkiye was feasible.
However, Mohamed Salah’s camp swiftly shut down the idea. Abbas reportedly made it clear that a move to Turkey is not under consideration, stating that the Egyptian star would either remain at Liverpool or move to Saudi Arabia, according to Turkish outlet Sabah.
Mohamed Salah remains under contract with Liverpool until the summer of 2027.
Mohamed Salah has featured in 20 matches for Liverpool across all competitions this season, registering five goals and four assists. (BusinessDay)
