The Ajisope Development Initiative has raised concerns about the concentration of development efforts in Ede, Osun State, and its potential repercussions for Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Ajisope criticized the current administration for prioritizing infrastructural projects in Ede, his hometown, at the expense of other towns and communities across the state.

Founder of the initiative, Abdulkabir Ajisope, who spoke at a meeting with various local associations, including the Tipper Association, Nigeria Automobile Technician Association (NATA), hairdressers and party leaders across different wards, in Osogbo, yesterday, argued that this unequal distribution of development resources could lead to dissatisfaction among residents in underserved areas, which may ultimately impact the governor’s support base.

“The perception that all roads are being dualized in Ede while other towns suffer neglect can create significant discontent among the electorate,” Ajisope stated. He emphasized that for Adeleke to maintain broad support, equitable development across all communities is essential.

Highlighting the historical commitment of Ejigboland and other towns to supporting gubernatorial candidates, Ajisope warned that failure to address developmental disparities might alienate key stakeholders and voters. He stressed that the governor needs to be mindful of the wider implications of his policies, especially as the 2026 gubernatorial election approaches.

Ajisope’s remarks reflect a growing concern among various community groups and local leaders regarding equitable development in the state. He urged the current administration to adopt a more inclusive approach to governance that recognizes the needs of all citizens, thereby fostering unity and support for Adeleke’s leadership.

Ismaila Raimi, representing commercial motorcycle riders, stated that the current government has not been supportive of their interests. He claimed that efforts are underway to mobilize against the government due to its unfriendliness towards transport unions and market women.

While rallying support for the APC, Ajisope urged members to avoid violence. He advised them to use their electoral power to advocate for better governance, insisting that the 2026 governorship election should serve as an opportunity to demand a fair and just administration. (The Sun)
