“As a mark of respect for the departed Deputy Governor, the NDDC Board and Management have shelved the commissioning of projects in Bayelsa State, which was initially scheduled for the 16th of December, 2025,” NDDC said in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Governing Board, Mr. Chiedu Ebie, and Managing Director/CEO, Chief Samuel Ogbuku, Ph.D.
The statement described Senator Ewhrudjakpo as “a man of candour, unwavering commitment, and exceptional dedication to public service; virtues that earned him the well-deserved reputation of a tireless and “workaholic” Deputy Governor.”
According to NDDC, “From his impactful tenure as Commissioner for Works in Bayelsa State, where he played a pivotal role in advancing infrastructural development, to his distinguished service as Senator representing Bayelsa West in the 9th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Ewhrudjakpo consistently demonstrated competence, vision, and an unyielding passion for the progress of his people. His life was defined by service, sacrifice, and a resolute commitment to the common good.
“Senator Ewhrudjakpo served Bayelsa State and Nigeria with remarkable humility, sincerity, and patriotism. He was a leader who embodied integrity and simplicity, setting a shining example worthy of emulation.
