A United Nigeria Airlines flight
The United Nigeria Airlines has announced the commencement of direct flight operations from both Murtala Muhammed International Airport Terminal 2, Lagos, and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, to the General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin.
The airline made this known through a statement signed by its spokesperson, Chibuike Uloka, and made available to The PUNCH on Monday.
According to the airline, the new route represents a significant milestone in its mission to connect more Nigerian cities through reliable, accessible, and efficient air travel.
It will be recalled that United Nigeria had, barely two weeks back, commenced a direct flight to Accra, Ghana, and named the inaugural aircraft after Ghana’s late President, Jerry Rawlings.
It was gathered that the airline has grown its fleet to nine aircraft.
UNA stated that the expansion reflects its commitment to enhancing domestic mobility, fostering national integration, and easing travel for business passengers, families, and tourists alike.
Uloka said, “United Nigeria Airlines looks forward to serving Ilorin and making a meaningful contribution to the state’s social and economic development. With every new destination, we reaffirm our mantra Flying to Unite and bringing Nigerians closer to opportunities, culture, and commerce.
“Tickets are now available on flyunitednigeria.com and through accredited agents nationwide.”
The airline expressed optimism that its entry into Ilorin will support the state’s social and economic growth, reinforcing its mantra, Flying to Unite, by bringing Nigerians closer to new opportunities, cultures, and commercial activities.
UNA also revealed plans for further network expansion, saying direct flights from Lagos and Abuja to the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport will commence on 10 December 2025, while scheduled direct flights from Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, to Chinua Achebe Airport, Anambra, will begin on 15 December 2025.
These additions, the airline said, align with its mission to connect travellers across Nigeria safely, reliably, and on time. (The Sun)
