The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, will deliver the keynote address at the Council of Retired Federal Permanent Secretaries (CORFEPS) Annual Dinner scheduled for Dec. 4.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Dr. Adaoha Okwuosa, on Saturday in Abuja.

According to him, the theme for this year’s dinner is “Harnessing CORFEPS as a Wealth of Knowledge for Nation Building”.

He explained that the annual dinner traditionally features a keynote address on major contemporary issues in governance and national development.

This year’s event, he added, marks a special milestone as the CORFEPS National Executive has instituted a CORFEPS Honours Award, which will begin with the recognition of the Fathers and Founders of the organisation.

Okwuosa said Sen. Akume will serve as the keynote speaker, while the event will be chaired by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Didi Walson-Jack.

He noted that expected guests include the first female Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Ebele Okeke, as well as members of the Federal Executive Council, and heads of public service parastatals and agencies.

He added that captains of industry, retired and serving permanent secretaries, directors, and development partners are also expected to attend.

According to him, the introduction of the CORFEPS Honours Award will be formally launched at the State House, Aso Villa Conference Centre, where the distinguished founders will receive recognition.

He added that the annual dinner remains a relaxed social occasion that fosters interaction among CORFEPS members and stakeholders across the public service, private sector, and diplomatic community. (NAN)
