
Participants at the BRIPAN summit in Owerri
The Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN) has pledged to restore failing businesses in the Southeast region.
Speaking at the first BRIPAN summit in Owerri, Imo State on Wednesday, Zonal Coordinator Chief Philip Umeh emphasized the region’s entrepreneurial spirit and the need for effective financial distress management.
Meanwhile, President of BRIPAN, Chimezie Ihekweazu buttressing on the reason for the summit in the Southeast emphasised that the zone is one of the country’s most vibrant commercial base adding that with such a thriving business environment requires the structured intervention modern Insolvency and business rescue practice provides.
He also maintained that the association remains committed to aligning Nigeria’s Insolvency framework with global best practices strengthening judicial understanding through training expanding partnership with regulators and financial institutions,and promoting the practical application of the ‘rescue first’ philosophy that modern Insolvency practice encourages.
Meanwhile, in a bid to strengthen and decentralise the association’s activities, Ihekweazu disclosed that structures are going on in different parts of the country. (The Sun)
