A pastor of a prophetic prayer ministry, Sapele, Delta State, has been arrested by operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the Delta State Police Command over an allegation of defilement, rape, and sexual assault.
Pastor Daniel Ololo, according to the police in a statement, was picked up on Monday, November 17, sequel to a petition received on October 13, 2025.
In a statement, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe, said that on the strength of this petition, the Commissioner of Police detailed the State Criminal Investigation Department to investigate the situation.
According to him, “Pastor Daniel Ololo, was arrested at his church premises. Investigation revealed that the pastor allegedly used fake prophecy to lure vulnerable church members to his church office and coerce them into believing that if he did not have sex with them, they would not be delivered.
“Further investigation revealed that he had canal knowledge of three sisters of the same mother, who are his church members (names withheld), and the last victim is aged 17 years. The suspect is in custody, and investigation is ongoing’.
In a related development, a suspect, who allegedly escaped from Oko Correctional Centre during the EndSARS 2020 jailbreak has been rearrested by the Agbor Police Division of the state.
The suspect, who is currently in custody, was apprehended after the DPO Agbor, received a complaint that one Michael Ezenwai was trying to sell a suspected stolen phone on October 24, 2025.
Edafe, who confirmed this in a statement, said that the DPO had swiftly mobilized operatives to the scene and immediately arrested the suspect.
He said that upon interrogation, the suspect claimed that he brought the phone from Libya.
“Later that same day, the phone rang, and the caller stated that the phone belonged to her sister, Christabel Egedefe.
“Upon the strength of this information, the DPO and team proceeded to the house of the said Christabel and discovered her dead in her apartment.
“At the Point, the suspect confessed to the murder of the victim, Christabel Egedefe, 26 , and initially lied that the father of the deceased had asked him to do it.
“Upon further interrogation, the suspect changed his statement, stating that he was only trying to indict the father of the victim.
“He, then, stated that he went on a robbery operation at her house on October 23,2025, and murdered her when she refused to let go of her motorcycle keys and also made away with her mobile phones.
“Preliminary investigation later revealed that the suspect is a serial murderer and was part of the syndicate that raped and murdered Uwaila Omorzua, a 200-level student of UNIBEN, who was murdered in the church when she went to study in the year 2020.
“The suspect further stated that he escaped from Oko Correctional Centre during the End SARS 2020 jailbreak. Suspect is in custody, and investigation is ongoing”, the statement added. (The Sun)
