Four people lost their lives on Saturday night as a Hliux van plunged into Ososa river along the Sagamu-Ijebu Ode expressway.
This development was confirmed to the Nigerian Tribune by the Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin, on Sunday.
The FRSC boss confirmed that six people were in the vehicle when the unfortunate incident happened.
He explained that two out of the six occupants swam out of the river, while the other occupants died in the river.
The deceased were said to have been recovered with the support of local divers who were part of the rescue operation.
Fasakin said the bodies of the deceased had been deposited at a morgue in Ijebu-Ode, and that the vehicle had been removed from the river.
The Sector Commander urged motorists to drive carefully to avoid unfortunate situations. (Nigerian Tribune)
