Shortlisted candidates at the Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko ICT Centre in Sokoto
More than 21,000 candidates on Saturday took for an online examination as part of the recruitment process for 3,000 openings in the Sokoto State Civil Service.
According to the Chairman of the Recruitment Committee, Alhaji Jelani Kalgo, over 30,000 applicants submitted entries, but 21,178 were shortlisted after the initial screening.
He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the examination after touring several centres across the state.
A visit by our reporter to the Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko ICT Centre along Kalambaina Road revealed large crowds of applicants patiently awaiting their turns, as the assessments were scheduled in batches.
Some candidates, however, raised concerns over the limited time allotted for the test, saying they were given only 30 minutes to answer 30 objective questions.
Others reported difficulties logging into the system due to technical glitches.
Reacting to the complaints, Kalgo assured that a supplementary examination would be organised for candidates who experienced genuine technical issues. (Weekend Trust)
