Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, is on track to break Rashidi Yekini’s goal scoring record.
Osimhen is now six goals behind Yekini, after he scored twice against Gabon in a 2026 World Cup playoff match on Thursday.
The Galatasaray striker had wasted a chance to tie the game at 1-1, but in extra time, he scored two difficult goals to win it.
This comes after he scored a hat-trick in Nigeria’s 4-0 victory against Benin Republic in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match.
Nigeria’s all-time top scorers:
Rashidi Yekini – 37 goals
Victor Osimhen – 31 goals

Ikechukwu Uche – 19 goals
