In a night that will be etched in the memories of his fans, Nigerian-American Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, delivered a landmark performance to a massive, sold-out crowd on November 9, 2025, at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, formerly known as the Liberty Stadium, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The concert was a key stop on the highly anticipated Nigerian leg of his global ‘5ive Tour,’ which began in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, on October 26 and moved through Yola, Adamawa, and Enugu before arriving in the heart of Ibadan.

The multiple award-winning artist had previously expressed his excitement about performing at home following his North American tour, describing the Nigerian edition as “special” to him.

The Ibadan show, organised in partnership with the Oyo State Government through the Agency for Youth Development, had a palpable sense of homecoming energy.

Davido held the audience captive with a powerful two-hour set as he powered through a string of hits, including “With You,” “Aye,” “Unavailable,” “Feel,” “Holy Ground,” and “FIA.” The energy peaked with performances of his breakout anthem, “Omo Baba Olowo,” and the fan-favourite “Risky,” alongside newer tracks that kept the enthusiastic crowd enthralled.

The stadium echoed with the voices of thousands of fans, who sang every word back to him, their phone lights creating a sea of illumination.

The night’s excitement was further amplified by surprise guest appearances from fellow stars Mayorkun and B-Red, sending the crowd into a frenzy and cementing the event as an unforgettable night in Afrobeats history.

Also present were the Governors of Oyo and Osun States, Seyi Makinde and Ademola Adeleke.

With the successful Ibadan concert now complete, the ‘5ive Tour’ is set to conclude with a grand finale in Lagos on December 25, promising another unforgettable night for Nigerian music fans. (The PUNCH)
